A piece of Cretan history!
When you want to add something to your wellness routine, it can be easy to reach for the latest supposed “wonder cure”. But this isn’t recent news. Cretan Mountain Tea Malotira, has been a little piece of the history of Crete for a long time. It has a rich and storied history of supporting and promoting health and healing. And you can discover the same amazing benefits and medicinal properties as the Venetians so many centuries ago, and the Cretans before them. In Greek, “Sideritis” (Gr: σιδηρίτις) can be literally translated as “he who is made of iron”. The plant was known to ancient Greeks, specifically Pedanius Dioscorides and Theophrastus. [1] The therapeutic use of Sideritis species was first mentioned by Dioscorides in his book “De Materia Medica” written in the 1st century (Font Quer, 2000).[2] Through research, today it has proven antioxidant and antimicrobial properties.
