The enchanting craft of dyeing with indigo, often referred to as “the king of dyes,” originates from the Indigofera plant and boasts a legacy that spans centuries. In the skilled hands of Indian artisans, this age-old dyeing technique transformed a plain fabric into a captivating work of art. The Journey of Creation
This handmade indigo throw was brought to life through a meticulous and time-honored process. Master craftsmen immersed the fabric in a natural indigo dye bath, layer by layer, to attain the deep, resplendent blue shades that define indigo textiles. Various resist techniques, such as tie-dye, block printing, or batik, were used to craft intricate patterns and designs on the fabric, transforming it into a canvas of artistic expression.
The dyed fabric was then gently sun-dried, allowing the indigo to undergo oxidation, gradually revealing its iconic blue hue, radiant as the summer sky. The throw was then lovingly finished with hand-stitched tassels, adding one more touch of authenticity to it.

Care:

Hand wash or use a cold, gentle cycle for sensitive fabrics. Do not use bleach or any kind of detergent which contains a bleach additive. Bleach will cause splotching of the indigo dye and damage the integrity of the garment material. Hang dry after stretching away from harsh direct sunlight. Indigo Coloring is a natural coloring that will bleed, so do not wash the indigo-dyed product with other garments. Even after the first few washings, the indigo color will continue to bleed every time you wash it. The product may shrink up to 2 inches after the first couple of wash cycles. Store with lavender sachets when not in use to repel bugs and moths.
