According to the prevailing opinion, the word “oregano” derives from the ancient Greek words “ὄρος”/óros/ (mountain) and “γάνος”/gános/ (brightness, joy) and refers to what brings joy and brightens the mountain. Oregano is a perennial herb with a particular aromatic scent, endemic mainly in the Mediterranean region, used from antiquity for its strong antibiotic, antifungal and antioxidant properties.

How to use

To massage:
Use it on clean, damp or dry skin by applying a mix of Olive oil or Jojoba oil, Coconut oil, Almond oil etc and drops of the essential oil (eg. 100ml of base oil and up to 30 drops of lavender). Massage gently with circular moves to help stressed skin.
To aid you while having a cold or virus:
Press one of your nostrils with your finger to close it, hold the open vial under the other nostril and inhale deeply, to aid with breathing especially if you suffer from mucus buildup. Repeat with the other nostril.

To relieve smelly feet:
Place drops of the essential oil in a basin with water, and soak your clean feet for 20-30′. Leave on and tap dry with a towel. Add a few drops of oil to cornstarch and dust your shoes inside when you’ll be wearing socks for a long time (choose woollen or cotton socks). Treat your nails with a mix of drops of oil and vinegar (grape or apple cider), before showering. Apply with brush or bare hands, leave on for 10-20′ and rinse off in the shower.
