FISIKA skincare line is seriously eco-friendly, with no fake promises, and combines our passion for health and wellness with our commitment as women to making this world a slightly better place. Inspired by our grandmother’s recipes in soap making and kitchen counter cosmetics, we launched our sustainable business in 2010, in a small village, in Chania of Crete island. Through our family’s need for gentle, harmless and effective ways to help the skin, we combined the heritage from our grandmas, the mother’s passion for creating and the daughter’s vision in clear design. Thus, FISIKA -which stands for Greek Φυσικά, and translates to ‘in a natural manner’ -was born.

An organic garden and a kitchen to create real, yummy food for your skin!

FISIKA formulas are all designed and created exclusively in our small homey kitchen, with beautiful materials hailing from our home landscape of Crete. We use only the purest, most potent, food-grade ingredients, that we either grow in our organic garden or hand-select and responsibly source from local farmers. These ingredients are mostly organic non-comedogenic oils, fair trade exotic kinds of butter, vitamin and antioxidant-rich plant extracts. So yummy and so important! What is also important is the fact that we do not use any Sulfates, Parabens, Phthalates, synthetic preservatives, perfumes and colourants, or other unnecessary ingredients, that are usually known as skin irritants. This way, we can proudly promise our products will never harm either you or the environment!

Did you know that in spring, we keep ourselves busy gardening? We grow flowers like Lavender and Calendula to use in our botanical extracts, and hand-collect wildflowers like native  Chamomile and St John’s wort, while safeguarding their ecosystem, on unsprayed olive orchards of the island. When working with local farmers and women’s associations, we always seek qualitative and whenever possible organic only crops. We can proudly say that these acts enhance the amount of vegetation on this planet, improving the ecology by increasing homes for insects and microorganisms that are essential for Nature. This means FISIKA products are ecological and bee-friendly!

Our lab is where all the magic & chemistry happen!

 

Our laboratory is the room where all the real magic happens! In this clean, well-lighted space we get to create our healthy products from scratch, using sustainable, zero waste and human-friendly manufacturing methods. To make the soap, we use the cold process of saponification, which largely maintains the exceptional properties of the organic olive oil and the other natural materials we’ve chosen. This also ensures that the natural glycerine created will be maintained inside each soap bar, thus adding greatly to the moisturising benefits of the soap which will clean and soften our skin without stripping away the beneficial natural oils.

We also create Massage oils with cold-pressed oils, using no heat, and Skin Creams which like all our products, are produced in small batches, numbered and controlled, to provide you with a jar of incomparable freshness and excellent quality every time!

 

We do produce in compliance with all laws and regulations according to the European Commission for Cosmetics. We keep Safety Assessments conducted by authorised Laboratories of Analysis and Control, and our workshop’s authorised Chemist, to ensure the safety of all our products! Our lab has adopted a Quality Management System for the purpose of the effective and efficient use of its resources.

The production, packaging and distribution of our products are established according to the ISO 22716 with the Guidelines on Good Manufacturing Practices, to ensure the reproducibility and the quality of our products. Our company also holds a Production Licence from the Greek Drug Administration (EOF Licence number 86601), and our cosmetic products are registered at the Cosmetic Products Notification Portal (CPNP). We are committed to continual improvement, meeting our customers’ requirements, ensuring a competent workforce to deliver quality results!

Hello, lovely souls! I’m Filio, and my life has been a rollercoaster with wagons brimming with love, laughter, and a touch of enchantment through the ups and downs. My most creative and joyful moments began with my grandma, the soap-making maestro, who sparked my fascination with the art of crafting homemade skincare potions.

Imagine me in my kitchen, stirring up ‘magical brews’ that, at least in the very beginning, had my family and friends questioning my wizardry skills. But hey, who can resist a little spellbinding in the pursuit of a colorful career? I kicked off as a clay artisan, sculpting artistic items on the captivating island of Samothrace.

Then, I took a detour into the world of costume design in Athens, where I discovered that sewing machines have a mischievous mind of their own! Finally, like an olive tree with deep roots, I found my forever home on the enchanting island of Crete.

For two decades, I wore many hats – an English language teacher to the youngest dreamers, a skincare magician in my kitchen, and a green-thumbed garden guru. Grandma’s wisdom was my guiding star through all of my life’s twists and turns.

But, just like a flower in full bloom, my passion blossomed into something extraordinary. Together with my daughter Maria, I co-founded FISIKA, delving even deeper into the fascinating realm of plant medicine (no, I haven’t turned anyone into a plant…yet). While being a producer is mostly a blast, I also relish some quiet time with my furry companions—dogs and cats—at home. This bond with nature has also firmly rooted me in actively supporting environmental and animal welfare causes.

Hey there, it’s Maria! A Chania native, I spent my childhood lost in daydreams beneath the whispering olive trees (seriously, those trees could probably write a novel). I was dancing like no one was watching, and sketching doodles that were basically my version of emoji before emojis were cool, meaning it was a deep form of expressing my feelings for a long period. I also developed a sweet tooth that could rival a bakery’s entire inventory!

While training to be a Pastry Chef, (trying not to eat all the delicious creations myself, a real test of willpower, let me tell you) I simultaneously navigated the world of sales as an assistant, proving that multitasking was my superpower. Little did I know that juggling cake recipes and customer inquiries would become my unique form of culinary ballet.

But as life unfolded, my passions expanded beyond the kitchen. Writing and graphic design became my creative outlets, leading me to envision a career that wouldn’t involve having flour in my hair 24/7.

Fueled by my mother’s kitchen experiments (and a realization that my old chef’s uniform wasn’t fitting as comfortably), the birth of FISIKA became our shared dream. Along this journey, I delved into the realm of photography, capturing moments that spoke volumes without saying a word. Connecting with people worldwide, even for an introvert like me, became a delightful surprise (who knew virtual hugs could be so heartwarming).

Fast forward to today—I’m not just a business enthusiast but also a mom, that just welcomed Baby #2 into our family’s delightful mix (because one little joy wasn’t quite enough). Creativity, my lifelong companion, isn’t confined to the kitchen or sketchpad anymore; it exists into every aspect of my life. Picture me knee-deep in finger paints with the kids, or celebrating business victories with a crazy awkward dance. FISIKA isn’t just a brand; it’s a canvas where passions, creativity and motherhood harmonize, and every day is a masterpiece waiting to unfold!

As an experiment professional in massage therapies, energy healing, and crystal work, I bring a touch of magic to your in-store experience. Whether you’re seeking for relaxation, rejuvenation, or a deeper connection with your Chakras, I’ve got you covered!

I enjoy relaxing at my serene home space which I personally designed with attention to detail and lots of white around. When I am not at FISIKA spreading good vibes, you can find me embracing the tranquility of Pilates, or being purposefully “lost” in the beauty of herbs and gardening, or even jet-setting to Sweden for a dose of Scandinavian charm.

With over a decade of experience in the hotel industry and a background in tourism, plus with two sons that I managed to raise so well, I believe I have perfected my skills in stress management and achieving well-being goals, ensuring that not just me, but all FISIKA team as well as every guest feels refreshed and revitalized.

At FISIKA, I’m a multitasker, keeping things running smoothly, ensuring every customer leaves with a smile. Hi! My name is Bianca and I am an Aussie girl with Cretan roots. 

I love all things herb, spice and plant inspired, in fact I would describe myself as a hopeless aromatic, pardon the pun! Picking something fresh and fragrant from the earth, and using it to create something wonderful is my forever happy place. And now, after years living a perfectly pleasant, conventional metropolitan lifestyle in Sydney Australia, I feel I have finally arrived at a point in my life where I can express my true passionate and creative self -and so one year I ago I leapt into the unknown and moved myself to Crete.

I am that girl whom you will see picking lemons off an overhanging tree, or crouching down to pluck some fresh chamomile flowers from the side of the path. I will be the person who plucks a leaf from here, or a berry from there, and with childish charm and a quiet determination, places it under your nose and gleefully encourages you to ‘smell it! Isn’t it wonderful?’

So naturally, I have ended up here in Crete. This adventurous, passionate spirit of mine, this gratitude for all things earthy, naturally drew me to discover FISIKA, a place that perfectly encapsulates all that I love about life and nature. Hey there! I am Titika and the story of my life isn’t a straight line. What remains really straight though is my ability to connect with the people, the animals and the nature in a very -but very really – deep level. Recently I found out that this is called HSP (Highly Sensitive Person).

If you ask me what I loved the most as a kid, I will tell you to make people happy! Nothing can satisfy me more than getting closer to people and offering them a gentle touch on their heart that will make them smile. What makes me even happier is getting in touch with people from different places of the world, as I strongly believe that no matter where we are born we are all so similar and so united from deep within. So then another passion was revealed and that is traveling…from South Africa to the Arctic Circle and from the USA to southern of Siberia.

While I worked in different environments, inside and outside of my country, I never believed that I could find a working place that it can fulfill simultaneously all the different aspects of myself; a place where the deep love & trust of nature will meet my passion for getting to know people from all over the world, while giving my best to please all their senses. Born and raised in the vibrant blend of Bulgaria and Greece, I’m not just fluent in languages (Bulgarian, Greek, and English), but also deeply into the realms of social well-being and the intricate workings of the human mind.

My studies journey involved bouncing between countries, soaking up knowledge in social well-being, developmental psychology, and communication. In the world of social well-being, I’ve weathered various storms, bringing a blend of endurance, ethos, and values to the table.

Fueled by a passion for animal welfare, I’ve been part of local volunteering efforts, from charity marathons to educating young children about our furry friends. Off-duty, my home and my world include a lovable dog and a bunny.
